Childlike

July 2023

Through the years I have worked on multiple exciting projects, but ‘Childlike’ was by far the most fun adventure I have ever embarked upon.
My ambition was to reverse my goals, and instead of creating something in order to immerse an audience to an absurd imaginative world as I usually do, bringing my absurt ideas into reality.
The way I chose to achieve this is by creating a quirky outfit inspired both from my personal illustrations and from multiple illustrations made by former students of mine (since I used to teach arts and crafts to children).
The final result consists of items completely handmade and second hand customized clothing, since it was my first time ever using a sewing machine and I lacked the technical knowledge to construct every piece from scratch.
I consider this outfit a success (I still wear most of the pieces), and this project the beginning of a new way of looking into my illustration and utilizing my skills.
